Klabunde Sisters

"We all wanted to be the Lennon Sisters," said one of the Klabunde sisters when she described how the group started. The four sisters -- Cindy Mehlhoff, Holly Weber, Jodi Stegmiller, Kate Larson and Kristi Fliginger (as seen in the picture) -- began singing at family get togethers. Even Saturdays were cause for celebration when the family gathered to watch the "Lawrence Welk Show." Welk often included the "Lennon Sisters" in his entertainment lineup and after the show the family pushed back the furniture so they could sing and dance. They attribute their love of music to their late mother, Betty Kalbunde.

The Klabunde Sisters first performed in the late 90s during the Dickens Festival and gave free-stage performances at S&J Hardware.
