The Centennial Singers had their beginnings around a central North Dakota community centennial celebration in Anamoose, some years ago. No doubt it started when an organizing committee enlisted the initial group of men to provide entertainment for the obligatory community program.
The group has evolved from that time to consist of 35 men from all walks of life, and several communities in central North Dakota. From Anamoose, Drake, Harvey, Hurdsfield, McCluskey, Goodrich and Heimdal, men gather together on Monday nights at First Lutheran Church of Harvey, to rehearse and enjoy fellowship with one another. They are currently under the direction of Ted Sitz, a long time music educator in the Harvey Public School system. The name, "Centennial Singers" has stuck from the very beginning and so has the another common theme: Men who love to sing!
